Major earthquake shakes near Lobuche, Nepal

A magnitude 7 earthquake was reported 90 km NE of Lobuche, Nepal, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occured Tuesday 7th January 2025 02:05 GMT and struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.
It is likely this earthquake has caused serious damage over larger areas.
